JORIS TEEPE & THE NY-GRONINGEN ART ENSEMBLE

Since his move to America in 1992, Joris Teepe has been in high demand as a double bass player, arranger and teacher, who commutes between venues, studios and music schools in New York and Europe. As a teacher at the Groningen conservatory he regularly invites musicians from New York, with whom he performs in the NY-Groningen Art Ensemble. The tenth anniversary of the group will be celebrated with a new CD, which will be recorded this week in Amsterdam. ‘You’ll be very surprised at what Teepe does with a familiar jazz tune.
