On his recent CD Live at the Bimhuis, Joris Roelofs shows what he is capable of, from lightning fast alto solos to heartfelt ballads on bass clarinet. The Dutch saxophone player mixes bop with cool and contemporary and is rightly counted among today’s ‘hot young altoists’ by the American website Jazz.com.
