Saxophone, clarinet and flute player Joris Roelofs is a rising star among young jazz soloists. His debut album was recorded in his new residence New York with top local musicians. One of the highlights on Introducing Joris Roelofs is ‘Four Winds’, a blazing duet with drummer Ari Hoenig (Dave Liebman, Pat Martino). Like Hoenig, pianist Aaron Goldberg (Freddie Hubbard, Joshua Redman) earned praise from Downbeat. Both musicians accompany Roelofs on his European tour, along with bass player bassist Johannes Weidenmüller (Hank Jones, Joe Lovano).
