Jorge Rossy Vibes Quintet ft. Al Foster + Mark Turner

Jorge Rossy, known as the drummer with Brad Mehldau, switches to vibes in his all-star quintet featuring saxophone hero Mark Turner and drum veteran Al Foster.

As one of the most successful drummers of his generation, Jorge Rossy has live in the US for many years, where he gathered large audiences with the Brad Mehldau Trio and where he collaborated with greats such as Paquito D’Rivera, Woody Shaw and Charlie Haden. In 2000 he moved back to his birthplace Barcelona, where he began focusing on the piano and the vibraphone.

In his current quintet he plays vibraphone. His recent album Beyond Sunday is all about modern jazz met a luminous sounds that brings back memories of Blue Note albums from the 1950s and 60s. The famous players on this album will also appear at the BIMHUIS: Mark Turner, known as the saxophonist in Fly, and Al Foster, who played drums with Miles Davis.
