JOÃO BOSCO E GRUPO

João Bosco-vocals, guitar, Nelson Faria-guitar, Key Conceição-bass, Kiko Freitas-drums

João Bosco is a legend in Brazilian popular music. During the military dictatorship (1964-1985), his songs were constantly censured. His ‘O Bêbado e a Equilibrista’ from 1977 was the theme song of Amnesty International. When he started touring outside Brazil in the late eighties, he became well-known internationally. His music, rooted in the classical samba and bossa nova tradition, fuses rock, jazz and other elements to an eclectic but highly original sound.
