The quintet led by Ferdinand Povel and John Marshall performs dazzling bebop that sounds as fresh as it did in the era when the style was invented. Trumpet player Marshall played in the bands of Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton and Dizzy Gillespie. The first collaboration with Dutch tenor and alto saxophonist Povel (Skymasters) dates from the end of the 1990s. Since then the quintet is recognized as one of Europe’s best.
