Joey Baron / Bram De Looze / Robin Verheyen
Wednesday27 March 2019

Without a doubt saxophonist Robin Verheyen and pianist Bram De Looze are among the most prominent figures of the Belgian jazz scene. They’re virtuosos on their instruments, visionary composers and band leaders following their own unique trajectories. They’re also Monk fans.

For several years they have been playing the repertory of Thelonious Monk as a duo. Now they will be joined by the American percussionist Joey Baron, who’s known from his collaborations with John Zorn (Masada, Naked City), Bill Frisell, Marc Copland and many others. He’s the ideal challenger in honoring Monk’s music. This spring the first album by this trio will be released.
