Joe Lovano is among the best and most universal tenor players of all time. His Blue Note oeuvre contains tributes to such divergent artists as Coltrane, Sinatra and Caruso, alongside collaborations with legendary musicians in every possible line-up. In Us Five he plays with heroes of the new jazz generation, including bassist Esperanza Spalding. The music is a continuation of the harmonious, spacious music of Coltrane in his later years.
