Antonio Carlos Jobim became famous overnight with ‘The girl from Ipanema’, but next to an enormous oeuvre of, by now classic, bossa novas he also left a number of symphonic works. Anna Elis de Jong made a selection from this for the project ‘Jobim Symphonic Songs’ in which various departments of the Rotterdam Music Conservatory (classical, tango, latin, jazz) work together. Guest soloists from Brazil are guitarist Paulo Arago and percussionist Alaor Soares.
