Some musicians just get better and better over time. This certainly holds true for Jim Hall, ‘the reigning master of the jazz guitar’ (The New Yorker). Since his timeless recordings with Sonny Rollins, Jimmy Giuffre, Paul Desmond and Bill Evans in the 1950s and 60s he never stopped developing and improving his style. The master of the lyrical understatement and the well-placed melodic phrase currently plays with an all-star trio featuring double bass player Scott Colley and drummer Joey Baron. ‘Mr. Hall has a sound as recognizable as the voice of a friend’ (Wall Street Journal).
