JESSE VAN RULLER & BERT VAN DEN BRINK

Their first collaboration in 2004 initiated by the Beauforthuis in Austerlitz turned out to be a brilliant move. Recently, the album In Pursuit was released, with compositions of Van Ruller and several standards. The duo stands out with breathtaking improvisations in which they frantically pursue each other. The abundance of ideas that they pour out over each other and the audience is astonishing. Chord patterns are dissected to the bone and reconstructed beautifully, rhythmic variations are fired at each other in a fury and new melody lines seem to appear out of the blue.
