JazzFest summer special, in anticipation of the fifth edition of this unique festival on October 31 at Studio K. In collaboration with JazzFest (‘undoubtedly the best jazz festival in Amsterdam’, Parool).

Well-known bands from the Amsterdam jazz scene present themselves in this preview of JazzFest, ‘undoubtedly the best jazz festival in Amsterdam’ (het Parool). The fifth edition of JazzFest Amsterdam will take place on October 31 at Studio K, where the Bimhuis will program one of the stages.

Amsterdam singer Sanne Huijbregts, known from the duo EvenSanne with
guitarist Eran Har Even, is renowned for her wide vocal range and
flexible voice. During this Jazzfest Summer Special she will perform
solo.

Identikit is the band of Marzio Scholten, a role model for young jazz guitarists because of his imaginative style. Earlier this year saw the release of the critically acclaimed EP Here Comes A Riot. ‘Scholten’s guitar rocks harder, the band sound is grittier. Lars Dietrich (alto sax) and Jasper Blom (tenor) know how to combine furious and lyrical notes’ (de Volkskrant).

Rumbatá Beat Band is a super swinging band with renowned Dutch jazz
musicians mixing latin with strong contemporary pop and jazz beats and
rhythms. ‘Inspiring music which strips latin band music of its salsa
clichés’ (NRC).

Ernst Glerum plays with the ICP Orchestra and many other bands as
one of the most versatile double bassists in the Netherlands. In his
trio Glerum Onmibus he proves himself as a formidable band leader and
composer. ‘Glerum likes songs and he always plays with a song-like
intonation and a love for melody’ (de Volkskrant). Glerum Omnibus will play in the cafe twice this evening.
