JAZZ ORCHESTRA OF THE CONCERTGEBOUW & ILJA REIJNGOUD, MARCO C. DE BRUIN

in collaboration with NPS Radio

o.l.v. Ilja Reijngoud

The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw plays music by two world class Dutch composers, who strive for beauty in orchestral jazz. Trombonist Ilja Reijngoud won the Thelonious Monk/BMI Award for his composition ‘No Substitute’. Wayne Shorter said: ‘We need more people like you in modern jazz.’ Marco C. de Bruin has composed for orchestras, ensembles, theatre and film. His CD La vie est belle was recorded with the Metropole Orchestra. Both Reijngoud and De Bruin studied in Rotterdam with renowned soundtrack composer Paul van Brugge. Tonight the Bimhuis cafe-restaurant will be serving a buffet menu instead of its usual a-la-carte menu (€ 15, from 18.30). Reservations recommended: 020-7882158.
