Dave Liebman, ‘the reigning king of the soprano sax’ (Chicago Tribune), is the special guest on the 65th birthday party of jazz drummer Eric Ineke. House band is ‘the best, most versatile and swinging big band in The Netherlands’ (AD), the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. Double bassist Marius Beets, with whom Ineke and Liebman regularly form a trio, has written a suite especially for this concert, for big band and Ineke’s jazz quintet JazzXpress. On this night Ineke will also present his new book The Ultimate Sideman, with stories and interviews.
