JAZZ ORCHESTRA OF THE CONCERTGEBOUW – CARTE BLANCHE MARTIN FONDSE
Amsterdam based Martin Fondse’s compositions and arrangements are the talk of the town both at home and abroad. He gained a reputation through his group Oktemble, which included Eric Vloeimans and Ernst Reijseger, and the Groove Troopers. This year he is launching his new pan-European Starvinsky Orkestar (27 March in the Bimhuis). With Fondse conducting, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw will be performing pieces in the Netherlands for the first time that he was commissioned to write for the broadcasting corporation orchestras of the WDR (Cologne) and Hessische Rundfunk (Frankfurt). Instead of its regular a la carte-menu the Bimhuis café-restaurant will be serving a buffet dinner for € 15 from 19 hours . Reservations are recommended: 020-788 2158.
