Ed Partyka, the American trombone and tuba player – guest conductor tonight – is a veteran of a large amount of prominent European big bands like the Vienna Art Orchestra, the bands of the NDR and WDR and the New Art Orchestra of Bob Brookmeyer. With Brookmeyer he shares a love for the unconventional, colorful and dynamic orchestra sounds with many shades and timbres. Guest soloist is Dutch vibraphonist Frits Landesbergen.
