JASPER VAN ‘T HOF 1/4TET – NO HARD SHOULDER
New acoustic band of pianist Jasper van ’t Hof, pioneer of innovative movements in international jazz since the late 1960s.
Dutch pianist Jasper van ’t Hof has been a pioneering musician in many ways. Relatively early, he experimented with keyboards, synthesizers and electronic effects. He gave a boost to jazz rock, fusion and groove jazz in Europe, in collaboration with Philip Catherine, Archie Shepp, Angelique Kidjo and many others. This development took place largely outisde of The Netherlands. For the first time in 20 years he released an album with Dutch musicians again. No Hard Shoulder (2016) has become an acoustic album with a personal signature. Van ’t Hof’s rich musical background is reflected in lyrical lines and exuberant piano solos.
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
