JASON MORAN AND THE BANDWAGON

Op zijn 27e is pianist Jason Moran al een van de belangrijkste jazzpianisten van deze tijd. Hij studeerde met meesters als Jaki Byard, Muhal Richard Abrams en Andrew Hill, bestudeerde het werk van James P. Johnson and Earl Hines en nam op met zijn oude helden Sam Rivers en Von Freeman. Hij werkt regelmatig met saxofonist Greg Osby en bracht onlangs zijn vierde Blue Note CD uit. The Bandwagon is zijn belangrijkste muzikale statement tot nu toe. ‘The main thing to know about Bandwagon is that it is the newest great jazz trio, pliable, hot, telepathic.
