JASON LINDNER NOW VS NOW

With his electro groove trio Now vs. Now, Jason Lindner makes a glorious re-entry at the Bimhuis, after a handful of gigs here as the pianist and keyboard player for among others star bassist Avishai Cohen. He came up in hip New York clubs such as Smalls and was voted #1 Rising Star Electronic Keyboards in de Downbeat Critics Poll 2013. In the pop world he’s known as producer and band leader for Lauryn Hill and with Now vs. Now he once again immerses himself in hip-hop and soul grooves, albeit with the flexibility of a seasoned jazzhead.

‘Now vs. Now knows few boundaries’, says de Volkskrant and calls him ‘one of the hippest figures in the modern New York jazz scene.’ Last November Now vs. Now released the album Earth Analog, on which the group flirts with electrogrooves and exotic space jazz. At the Bimhuis, Lindner will perform with bassist Panagiotis Andreou (NY Gypsy All-Stars) and drummer Nate Smith (Dave Holland, Chris Potter Underground).
