JANSSEN ZAPPT CALEFAX

Guus Janssen-piano Calefax: Oliver Boekhoorn-oboe, Ivar Berix-clarinet, Raaf Hekkema-saxophone, Jelte Althuis-bass clarinet, Alban Wesly-bassoon ZAPP: Jeffrey Bruinsma-violin, Friedmar Hitzer-violin, Oene van Geel-viola, Emile Visser-cello

A combination that is as fascinating as it is obvious: Janssen made a name in jazz as well as in composed music. In this program he plays together with two groups illustrating that the gap between two genres can easily be closed nowadays. Calefax and ZAPP both stand for close ensemble playing and driving rhythmics but also for the expressiveness of the personal variation. For this 10 piece super formation new work was written by Janssen, Oene van Geel, Raaf Hekkema and Jasper le Clercq. ZAPP and Calefax will also perform new repertoire separately.
