JAMES CARTER ORGAN TRIO
AFTERWARDS DJ ALVIZ AT THE CAFE
1 SET
James Carter tenorsax, Gerard Gibbs hammond B3, Leonard King drums
They have raised the roof at the Bimhuis before: world famous saxophone player James Carter and his longest running band, featuring Hammond organ player Gerard Gibbs and drummer Leonard King.
When saxophone player James Carter (Detroit, 1969) released his debut album JC on the Set in 1993, he caused uproar in the American jazz community. With his powerful sound and his enormous energy James Carter is quite rightfully recognized as one of the best jazz artists of his generation. His Organ Trio is his longest running band, with which he has already raised the Bimhuis roof several times. The trusty combination of tenor sax and Hammond Organ is transformed into a thrilling ride through 100 years of Afro-American music, from swing and bop to funk and rhythm-and-blues.
Before and after the concert the Bimhuis Café is open (free
