JAKOB BRO TRIO FT. ARVE HENRIKSEN, JORGE ROSSY
Jakob Bro guitar, Arve Henriksen trumpet, Jorge Rossy drums
On the occasion of his album Uma Elmo on ECM Records, Jakob Bro presents his new trio. Joining the Danish guitarist are two musicians who have each made name for themselves in international jazz: Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen and Spanish drummer Jorge Rossy. All three of them are known for their open approach to playing and their spacious sound.
The first time these three musicians ever performed together was for the sessions that led to Uma Elmo, and with success: the reviews were unanimously positive. On the album, Jakob Bro refers to the jazz heroes with whom he has collaborated and who have since departed: Tomasz Stańko and Lee Konitz. Arve Henriksen has previously recorded albums for ECM with Trio Mediaeval and Tigran Hamasyan. Jorge Rossy wrote jazz history as the drummer of the Brad Mehldau Trio.
