Jakob Bro – Midori Takada – Arve Henriksen – Jesper Zeuthen – Marilyn Mazur

Guitar virtuoso teams up with Japanese percussionist and new group.

Due to health reasons, Palle Mikkelborgs is unable to perform. He will be replaced by trumpeter Arve Henriksen and saxophonist Jesper Zeuthen. Due to personal circumstances Anja Lechner is unable to perform. She will not be replaced.

Danish guitarist Jakob Bro is known for his layered, spacious sound, which he has demonstrated on several occasions on our stage. Without gimmicks or fuss, he always manages to give a concert the intimacy of a living room, with the audience as part of a story told with fine brushes.

He is now back with a special program: In the first part of the concert, Jakob Bro, alto saxphonist Jesper Zeuthen and Japanese multi-percussionist Midori Takada will play a fully improvised set. Takada is a true legend of ambient music and, at age 70, still plays with tremendous physical intensity.

After the improvised set with Takada, Bro will showcase new compositions and tracks from his album Returnings with trumpeter Arve Henriksen, alto saxophonist Jesper Zeuthen, cellist Anja Lechner and percussionist Marilyn Mazur. This group revolves around the musicians’ individual voices, which are given the freedom to come in or ebb away at any time.
