She has been called ‘Queen Izaline’ and ‘the queen of Antillean music’; Curacao singer Izaline Calister is able to evoke the warmth of the Caribbean with her voice. Previously she won an Edison Jazz and World Music Award and now she’s back with the album Rayo di Lus (Ray of Lights). Now more than ever she goes back to her Afro-Antillean roots with songs in her Papiamentu mother tongue. She wrote the songs together with her brother, percussionist Roël Calister. At the Bimhuis she will perform with her great band, with which she toured all over the world.
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.00 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
