Saxophonist Ilhan Ersahin, born in Stockholm, raised in Turkey and musically matured in New York, expresses his ties with Istanbul and deeply rooted love for Turkish music with his CD: ‘Wonderland’. His universal, provoking and original performance offers strong work, blending jazz with electronics, creating contemporary, melodic oriental music. While he is influenced by American post-boppers, Ersahin has also absorbed the essentials of reggea, hip-hop, and pop in addition to Middle East folk music. Pay special attention to the incredible Roma clarinettist Hüsnü Senlendirici who plays a special role in this project.
