I COMPANI – LAST TANGO IN PARIS +

Michel Mulder-bandoneon, Christoph MacCarthy-piano, Tessa Zoutendijk-violin, Rik Sturtewagen-violin, Jeroen Doomernik-trumpet, Saartje van Camp-cello, Marko Bonarius-bass, Bo van de Graaf-saxophones, Yonga Sun-drums, Martijn Grootendorst-VJ

The film Last Tango in Paris is a controversial classic, which broke taboos in the 1970s. The stormy sexual outburst between lead actors Maria Schneider and Marlon Brando attracts all the attention, but the soundtrack by Gato Barbieri and Oliver Nelson is just as intense. The ensemble I Compani, which includes three string players and a bandoneon player, reinterprets the sultry film music. VJ Martijn Grootendorst provides moving images.
