The nine musicians of I Compani pay a tribute to Italian film director Frederico Fellini who passed away ten years ago. Ever since the 80’s, the group performed the original music (mostly by Nino Rota) to scenes from various films of Fellini. A compilation of video images, photographs, sketches, interviews and, naturally, pieces of film offers an impression of the human being behind the director. Veejay Martijn Grootendorst created a modern visual image with these ingredients and there are text passages by Rosita Steenbeek and Peter van Bueren. Besides new arrangements of original scores, I Compani will also play recent work by leader and saxophonist Bo van de Graaf.www.icompani.nl
