ADE SPECIAL: HUMCRUSH & SIDSEL ENDRESEN

Sidsel Endresen has a remarkable voice that moves between jazz, spoken word and mystical silence. On top of that she is a formidable improviser. For three decades now she has constantly been traversing new musical roads, first with Scandinavian improvisation masters Bugge Wesseltoft and Nils-Petter Molvær and now with Humcrush. The Norwegian duo’s sparse, tight percussion brings to mind minimal techno, and their icy, but funky synthesizer sound has been described as ‘a missing link between Brian Eno and Herbie Hancock’ (BBC).
