HORACIO ‘EL NEGRO’ HERNANDEZ & ITALUBA

Amik Guerra-trumpet, Ivan Bridon-piano, Daniel Martinez-bass, Horacio ‘El Negro’ Hernandez-drums

The (in New York residing) Cuban Horacio ‘El Negro’ Hernandez is one of the most prominent drummers of today. He is the rhythmical force behind musicians like Michel Camilo, Chucho Valdes, Paquito D’Rivera, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Roy Hargrove and Carlos Santana. With Italuba – a merge of Italy (where he lived for three years) and Cuba – ‘El Negro’ makes his debut as a band leader. His repertoire is based on classic Afro Cuban rhythmics: rumba, guanguanco, danzon and mambo.
