Cuban Horacio ‘El Negro’ Hernandez, residing in New York since 1993, is one of the most prominent Latin drummers of this time. He made a great impression as a side man with Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Michel Camilo and Carlos Santana, to name a few. With Italuba – a combination of Italy (where he lived for 3 years) and Cuba – ‘El Negro’ makes his debut as a band leader. ‘Superhuman riffs of the master drummer El Negro’ was the headline in the Volkskrant after his previous Bimhuis concert.
