HIROMI’S SONICBLOOM

As a teenager she had already played with Chick Corea. Since then keyboardist Hiromi Uehara has developed her own flamboyant style and reached pop star status in Japan. Titles like ‘Return of the Kung-Fu Champion’ and ‘Tom and Jerry Show’ betray influences that reach far beyond jazz. ‘I’m inspired by anyone who has big, big energy’, she explains. Her tight, melodic playing is rounded out by another eccentric, guitarist David Fiuczynski, who likes to experiment with the double neck guitar.
