NEDERLANDSE MUZIEKDAGEN
led by Ulrich Pohl
Presentation: Jeff Hamburg
A standard feature of the programme during the Dutch Music Days (held this year in Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and the Bimhuis from 7 through 9 November) is de Henriëtte Bosmans Prize, a composition competition for young composers who are members of the Het Genootschap van Nederlandse Componisten (The Society of Dutch Composers)(GeNeCo). A maximum of four pieces have been selected from the entries submitted to be performed by the Insomnio ensemble. Jury members were: Jeff Hamburg (chairman), Daan Manneke, Anne La Berge, Alison Isidora and Kevin Whitehead. During the jury deliberation a recently rediscovered piece by Nico Richter will be performed – his 1935 Concerto for cello and six instruments, will make its Dutch debut.
