Harold López-Nussa Trio
Harold López-Nussa piano, Felipe Cabrera bass, Ruy López-Nussa drums/percussion
Harold López-Nussa is one of the flag-bearers of Cuban jazz piano; charismatic and incredibly flexible in his playing. As a classically trained prodigy he chose to play Afro-Cuban jazz and became pianist with diva Omara Portuondo. His most recent album Te lo dije encompasses many sides of latin jazz, including contemporary styles such as songo and reggaeton.
Harold López-Nussa made his international breakthrough ten years ago with the project Ninety Miles, featuring David Sánchez, Christian Scott and Stefon Harris. Harold comes from a musical family: his nephew Ernan López-Nussa is a famous piano player and his father Ray López-Nussa is a gifted percussionist. In his current trio he plays with his younger brother Ruy Adrián López-Nussa and bassist Julio César González.
