HANS DULFER PRESENTS FUNKY ORGANIZERS
CONCERT WITHOUT INTERMISSION
Hans Dulfer sax, Jermaine Berkhoudt zang, Gijs van Oosterhout sax, Willem ’t Hart toetsen, Bram ’t Hart bas, Zep Barnasconi drums
‘Tough tenor’ Hans Dulfer introduces the Bimhuis to the young talents of Funky Organizers. ‘Dulfer still blows with overwhelming energy’ (de Volkskrant).
Funky Organizers is a young band bursting with funk, from old school to modern, featuring an MC, a sax player, a Hammond organist, a bass guitarist and a drummer. Hans Dulfer discovered them at a gig in their hometown Dordrecht and was the special guest on their album Powerstage – Live! Now he will introduce this very young band to the Bimhuis.
October 1 is a special date for tenor sax player Hans Dulfer and the Bimhuis: October 1, 1974 was the opening date of the first Bimhuis at Oudeschans, of which Dulfer was one of the founders. During his career Hans Dulfer has kept his ears open for new sounds, energetic beats and catchy melodies.
‘Dulfer rambles on… still a driving force in Dutch jazz and pop music’ (NRC).
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 till 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
