GWILYM SIMCOCK TRIO

Gwilym Simcock-piano, Yuri Goloubev-bass, James Maddren-drums

Gwilym Simcock solidifies his status as a piano prodigy with the release of his debut album Perception. He was already hot n England where he won the most important awards and played with musicians like Kenny Wheeler and Bill Bruford. Now the American critics are convinced as well. They compare the Welsh pianist to Brad Mehldau and Keith Jarrett. Simcocks improvisations express both his education as a classical pianist as well as his love for jazz harmonies. ‘A dazzling mix of rhythmic agility and melodic generosity’ (Downbeat).
