GREETJE KAUFFELD TRIO

Greetje Kauffeld-vocals, Peter Nieuwerf-guitar, Jan Menu-tenor saxophone, vocals

She was the most popular singer of Holland in the late 50’s. She was the star of the West German world of entertainment in the 60’s. In the 70’s, Greetje Kauffeld manifested herself mainly as a very impressive jazz vocalist. Three lines, three decades that underline the many sides of a musician that found her own sound by singing along with records of Frank Sinatra and Doris Day. In the 80’s she expanded her intimate style with a spectacular trio that consists of, besides herself, Peter Nieuwerf (guitar) and Jan Menu (saxophones). This is the first concert of Greetje Kauffeld at the Bimhuis.
