GRAVITONES

Clear melodies and rhythms are the points of departure for Gravitones, but they can be taken into all kinds of directions, from the mysterious to cartoonesque. The group of improvisers centred around clarinet player Augusto Forti create ‘a strange cross between transparent cool jazz from the 1950s, Chico Hamilton fusion of a decade later and contemporary dance’ (NRC). ‘Classic form interwoven with imaginative improvisations and a goofy sense of humour’ (Volkskrant).
