FRAANJE/MAHALL/GOUDSMIT/ROHRER

Anton Goudsmit gitaar, Rudi Mahall basklarinet, Harmen Fraanje piano, Samuel Rohrer drums

When it comes to energy and imagination guitarist Anton Goudsmit and pianist Harmen Fraanje are a match for one another, something which they have demonstrated countless times on stage, for example in Eric Vloeimans’ Fugimundi. Now, they will once again take an adventure with their kindred spirits from the European improv circuit, bass clarinet player Rudi Mahall (Der Rote Bereich) and drummer/percussionist Samuel Rohrer. The very first performance op this group took place at the Bimhuis in 2012. That concert received a 4 star review in de Volkskrant.

‘All four of them are used to improvising while remaining open to lyricism and humor. You’ll rarely hear solos, the spotlight moments are intertwined in the ensemble playing. The fun in playing is palpable. The jumpy compositions sound fresh and the more cinematic moments are simply wonderful’ (de Volkskrant).

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
