GLOBE UNITY ORCHESTRA
GLOBE UNITY ORCHESTRA

For decades the Globe Unity Orchestra has been bringing together the most renowned musicians from the international experimental improvisation scene. Every performance is a unique opportunity to see wayward soloists from several generations and countries on the same stage. The ensemble’s collective improvisations have much in common with the ecstatic free jazz of Albert Ayler and John Coltrane’s ‘Ascension’, as well as with the European avant-garde music of the last century. After a fifteen-year hiatus the orchestra was recently resurrected. Critics are unanimously impressed with the impact of the renewed ensemble. ‘An amazing experience on record but exponentially more powerful in person.’ (All About Jazz) ‘Essential listening for anyone with even a passing interest in European free improvisation.’ (Jazz Times)
