Between Christmas and New Year, the nine-piece La Vintage Orchestra ensures an energetic evening with genuine old school salsa. Band leader is the Venezuelan-born percussionist Gerardo Rosales, who played with famous latin jazz artists such as Paquito D’Rivera, Bebo Valdés en Oscar D’Leon. The sound of his orchestra is based on legendary records from the 1960s and 70s. After the concert we continue with Salsa Panorama – a Cuban salsa party in our cafe with fantastic view – where you can dance until the early hours.
Gerardo Rosales has been living in The Netherlands for thirty years and he has played with the Dutch latin and jazz top, including Lilian Vieira, Maite Hontelé, Denise Jannah, Izaline Calister, Metropole Orchestra, Lucas van Merwijk & Cubop City Big Band, The Rosenberg Trio, Benjamin Herman, and New Cool Collective. He recorded over twenty albums under his own name, including La Vintage, which was released this year and can be listened live for the first time this evening.
