Three leading improvising ensembles will share the stage (possibly interacting). First to be heard is German pianist/composer Georg Graewe with his excellent European/American quintet (he performed at the Bimhuis before with Anthony Braxton as a duo and with Gerry Hemingway and Ernst Reijseger in a trio). This concert will be followed by the trio of American tenor player Ellery Eskelin, an exponent of the explosion of creativity in down town New York, with guest soloist, vocalist Jessica Constable. Available Jelly is an all star ensemble of musicians who took the ICP principles quite a bit further, representing the lively international Amsterdam music scene.
