GARY LUCAS

Gary Lucas was the guitarist in the band of legendary singer, composer and visual artist Captain Beefheart (1941-2010), whose quirky mixture of blues and avant-garde was admired by influential artists such as Dylan, Joe Strummer, David Lynch and Anton Corbijn. Lucas illustrates the life of his master with obscure recordings, films and slides. The following musical performance I Have A Cat is a collaboration with radio producer Co de Kloet, who mixes fragments of his telephone conversation with Beefheart, which is most likely the last lengthy interview the singer ever did.
