GARTH KNOX – VIOLA BRILLANTE

In this solo concert, viola player Garth Knox will perform works of various contemporary composers, among which Kaija Saariaho. This Finnish composer was very successful with her opera L’Amour de Loin that she presented at the Holland Festival in 2005. This piece is acknowledged as one of the most fascinating compositions in 30 years of contemporary music. The Holland Festival commissioned Kaija Saariaho to write a piece for viola player Garth Knox and presents the world premiere of this composition.
