FRANS VERMEERSSEN / MICHIEL BRAAM SEXTET ALL EARS

Herb Robertson-trumpet, Frank Gratkowski-alto sax, Frans Vermeerssen-tenor sax, bariton sax, Michiel Braam-piano, Wilbert de Joode-bass, Michael Vatcher-drums

Free music full of fierce improvisations that are still easy on the ear’. This is how Michiel Braam and Frans Vermeerssen describe the sound of their international sextet All Ears. Free of dogmas and in a cheerful way, they improvise using the Bik Bent Braam Bonsai method: in the composition a group member can turn into a new road and seduce the others to come along. The structures that arise spontaneously can vary between a ‘cosy chat’ , a ‘ferocious fight’ and ‘everything in between’, but are always appealing.
