FB III: FLAMENCO MEETS IRAN

FLAMENCO MEETS IRAN
Prior to the concert at 19:30 introduction by Saskia Törnqvist

Aside from the presenting the best of contemporary flamenco, the Flamenco Biennale highlights cultures from which this Spanish music style originally sprang. Persian classical music is one of the origins of flamenco. The Qasida project revolves around a dialogue between two musical cultures and their poetry. The young singer Rosario ‘La Tremendita’ from Sevilla will meet Mohammed Motamedi, a fresh talent from the Iranian music scene. ‘More flamenco then La Tremendita is impossible’ (Le Monde).

During the Flamenco Biennale the Bimhuis restaurant serves Spanish specials for three nights.
