Three unique musicians from the European avant-garde come together as Fish Scale Sunrise: Kaja Draksler, Ab Baars en Joe Williamson.

Ab Baars, founder of this new group, is an established musician in Amsterdam’s jazz and improvised music scene, as the reeds player and composer member of ICP Orchestra. Baars is praised for his solo performances.

The young Slovenian pianist/composer Kaja Draksler made a great
impression with her debut solo performance at the Bimhuis and with her
2014 solo album The Lives of Many Others.

The Canadian-born bassist Joe Williamson has lived in Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Stockholm, playing in countless adventurous bands including Trapist and Tobias Delius 4tet. ‘Joe Williamson’s bass has a gloriously full sound, enveloping the listener as he bows out thick swathes of deepness’ (BBC).
