EURORADIO JAZZ COMPETITION 2016
FINALS
Finals of the European competition for young ensembles with international jazz talent. Four ensembles (from Ireland, Czech Republic, Spain and Sweden) compete for the first prize.
The Euroradio Jazz Competition was initiated as the European Jazz Competition in 2006. The finals will be broadcast in various European countries via the NPO and EBU’s Euroradio network.
Jan-Willem Luyken, Director of the North Sea Jazz Festival: ‘Over the years we’ve seen a change in regard to the origin of jazz talent, the normal overflow of American groups making way for more European input. It’s great to welcome the finals of the competition with the best young talents from all over Europe.’
Finalists:
Kristina Barta Trio (Czech Republic)
Súp (Ireland)
Félix Rossy & Marco Mezquida (Spain)
Sisters of Invention (Sweden)
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
