Eyolf Dale Trio

Eyolf Dale piano, Per Zanussi double bass, Audun Kleive drums

‘I try, as well as I can, to translate the emotions and landscapes that I want to express into melodies, chords and structures that gives me goosebumps’, says Eyolf Dale, who’s regarded as one of the major Norwegian pianists alongside Bugge Wesseltoft and Tord Gustavsen. The Eyolf Dale Trio originated from the larger formation Wolf Valley, which has performed on our stage before.

The trio, featuring Per Zanussi on double bass and Audun Kleive on drums, has released the album Being to rave reviews. ‘The compositions vary from subdued, with a classical touch, to exciting, challenging, and intense. Dale excels in his lyrical playing, while Kleive makes every beat count. Zanussi connects the dots with his fluent bass lines and subtle grooves’ (Jazzism).
