Cuban singer Estrella Acosta and friends celebrate Nochebuena, Christmas Eve, in Cuba the biggest party of the year, with the music of her motherland. They also celebrate the tenth anniversary of her band, Estrella’s Guajira. They are cooking up a musical mix of guajira, rumba, son and danzón, with plenty of personal spice… Estrella grew up in Cuba, lived in Mexico City, Austin, Rio de Janeiro and New York and now lives in Amsterdam. ‘Estrella’s singing is bright and without frills… the arrangements provide ample space for the musicians to shine’ (NRC). “A happy transatlantic party that takes off and soars!” (Luis Tamargo, Latin Beat Magazine).
