Four high profile Dutch improvisers have teamed up in a continuously surprising chamber music lineup. Their new album Bayachrimae is released on the prestigious Hungarian classical music/jazz label BMC.
Four leading maestros from Dutch music take turns in Estafest, improvising with original compositions. ‘They play together like swallows dancing’, de Volkskrant wrote about them. NRC, another Dutch newspaper, was full of praise as well: ‘Estafest is a quartet of string and wind instruments, pushing and pulling each other in abstract, cinematic compositions. The quartet crawls around, teeming with adventure.’
Estafest has a unique chamber music lineup featuring Oene van Geel (Zapp4) on viola and cajon, Mete Erker (Artvark SQ) on saxophone, Anton Goudsmit (Ploctones) on electric guitar and Jeroen van Vliet (Eric Vloeimans’ Gatecrash) on piano. Their new album Bayachrimae is released by BMC Records from Budapest, which brings together classical, jazz and Eastern European music; an ideal label for Estafest.
